One Room Challenge: Luxury Hotel Bedroom Inspiration & Color Scheme

Updated: Apr 24

Last week, I announced I had chosen my bedroom for the One Room Challenge. My goal is to transform it into a serene space offering some elements represented in Transitional Style. I will zhuzh is up by incorporating textural fabrics, darker hues, and an appearance or two of farmhouse and boho style. See the before pictures of my bedroom space here.

For those that have been following the renovation and design process of my home, you know that I love bright colors and loud patterns. So you're probably shocked to see my mood board displaying more neutral tones.

I decided to really focus on the purpose I wanted my bedroom space to serve and what mood should be felt when in this space. Since there are spaces throughout the home offering vibrant colors and fun patterns, it gave more room to design a bedroom space with a neutral palette that would add warmth and bring calming effects in addition to elegance, depth, and a timeless, classic appearance. Here are some images of the newly painted bedroom.

The wall color is "Cyberspace" by Sherwin Williams (SW7076) matched in Behr Paint, satin. This color looks black, but is actually a dark shade of gray with deep blue undertones. In order to offset this bold and dark paint color, I will include the above mentioned neutral tones and softer textural fabrics.

I know you're wondering what's happening on the wall that's missing paint...I hope to share that design element next week!

Don't forget to see how the second week is going for the other guest participants!
