- Blue Sail Restaurant & Beach Bar Review | Nassau Bahamas
$$・French, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Vegetarian Options ⚲ West Bay Street Sandyport, Nassau New Providence Island Neighborhood: Paradise Island VISIT WEBSITE > VIEW INSTAGRAM > MAKE A RESERVATION > About Blue Sail Blue Sail Restaurant & Beach Bar is nestled on the stunning Sandyport Beach offering breathtaking views of the sparkling ocean. This charming beachfront eatery serves an eclectic mix of mouthwatering dishes, with a special focus on their immensely popular wood-oven pizzas, which are a fan favorite. The menu features a delightful combination of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, each infused with a distinctive French flair that adds a unique twist to the flavors. These exquisite offerings are beautifully complemented by a selection of classic Bahamian dishes, bringing together the best of both worlds. Whether you're craving a fresh seafood dish, a flavorful pizza, or a traditional Bahamian meal, Blue Sail offers a dining experience that perfectly blends international influences with local ingredients, all served with a side of stunning ocean views. Santeka's Taste Test | Did it Pass? The food at Blue Sail in Nassau, Bahamas was absolutely delicious. We decided to sample a variety of items from the menu, and each dish exceeded our expectations. The flavors were fresh, and the preparation was top-notch. While the customer service was a bit slow, the staff was exceptionally kind and made sure we felt taken care of throughout our meal. We arrived for an early dinner, and being just steps away from the beach, we were able to walk right down to the shore after our meal, which added a lovely touch to the evening. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and we opted to sit outside to enjoy the breeze and take in the stunning views of the ocean. The atmosphere was laid-back and peaceful, providing the perfect setting for a relaxed dinner by the water. As for the drinks, they were decent but didn’t quite match the price point. I don’t mind paying a premium for a well-crafted cocktail, but unfortunately, the drinks here didn’t quite hit the mark. I wouldn’t recommend the signature cocktails, as they were overly sugary. I personally ordered the sangria, but it was more like a sweet fruit punch than a classic sangria. I could barely taste the red wine or liquor, and it seemed like the recipe had been altered with ingredients that didn’t resemble traditional sangria at all. Despite the disappointment with the drinks, the food was so enjoyable that we would definitely return to Blue Sail. The combination of great food, beautiful views, and the relaxed beachside vibe makes it a spot worth revisiting, though I’d probably stick to a simpler beverage next time. The Vibe: Casual Laid-back Oasis atmosphere Ocean views Beach access Menu Favorites: Curried Shrimps Crunch Roll Bahamian Hot Pizza Wagyu Beef Burger Important Tip(s): I recommend opting for beer, wine, or simple two-ingredient cocktails, as these tend to be a better choice than the more complex drinks on the menu. If you're in the Nassau, Bahamas, you absolutely can't miss Yellowbell. After enjoying a delicious dinner at Shima , the incredible restaurant located on the top floor of The Island House, we headed over to Yellowbell for a nightcap. We decided to sit on the outside patio, which turned out to be the perfect spot to enjoy drinks under the stars, with a stunning backdrop that made the experience even more memorable. The ambiance was laid-back yet sophisticated, offering a wonderful setting to unwind. The staff at Yellowbell was exceptionally attentive, ensuring we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. The cocktails were fantastic, each one crafted with precision and flair, showcasing a mix of local flavors and fresh ingredients. One of the highlights of the bar was the colorful, artistic interior, which offered a vibrant and welcoming vibe. There was also a great variety of seating options, from intimate spots to more open areas, allowing guests to choose their ideal setting based on their mood. While we were there just for drinks, I couldn’t help but think how wonderful it would be to come back during the day for breakfast or lunch. The menu looked amazing, and I’m sure the relaxed atmosphere would be perfect for a leisurely meal. I also imagine it would be a great place to work remotely or read a book, with its cozy yet lively environment. I’ll definitely make it a point to visit Yellowbell again on my next trip to The Bahamas. A great bonus is that you don't need to be a guest at The Island House to visit either Yellowbell or Shima, making it accessible to anyone looking for an exceptional experience. $$ ∙ American Bar, Vegetarian Options ⚲ 1 Baha Mar Blvd, Nassau New Providence Island Neighborhood: Paradise Island VISIT WEBSITE > VIEW INSTAGRAM > About The Swimming Pig The Swimming Pig at Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas offers a refined twist on the classic English pub, blending gourmet cuisine with a selection of draft beers. The menu features visually appealing dishes that combine innovative ideas with bold, contrasting flavors. Start your day with made-to-order omelets, island-style French Toast, and other hearty breakfast staples, or enjoy a satisfying lunch or dinner with options like conch, sliders, burgers, flatbreads, and other beloved pub classics. The Swimming Pig at Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas Santeka's Taste Test | Did it Pass? My experience at The Swimming Pig was incredibly disappointing. Upon arrival, the hostess didn’t greet us, and we decided to seat ourselves at the bar. Despite there being multiple bartenders and servers behind the bar, none of them acknowledged us or took our order. The bar was also cluttered with empty glasses and plates, and the surfaces needed cleaning. A couple who sat down shortly after us were immediately attended to, which made the situation even more frustrating. My friend spoke to the hostess about the issue, and the manager came over to apologize. He comped our first round of drinks and personally took care of us until we left. While we appreciated how the manager handled the situation, it wasn’t until he intervened that the staff acknowledged us. As for the food, it was average at best, and the only reason I would recommend this place is because it’s open 24 hours. So if you’re in need of late-night food and drinks, it might be your only option. The Vibe: Lively sports bar with an upscale pub atmosphere Important Tip(s): The manager mentioned that after the nightclub closes on Fridays and Saturdays (around 2 am), the atmosphere gets rowdy and busy. Plan accordingly. Map

- Bon Vivants Cafe + Cocktail Bar Review | Nassau, Bahamas
$$$$ ∙ Cafe, Cocktail Bar ⚲ 401 Seaskye Lane Sandyport, Nassau New Providence Island Neighborhood: Paradise Island VISIT WEBSITE > VIEW INSTAGRAM > About Bon Vivants Bon Vivants is the first true cocktail bar in Nassau, Bahamas that is wholly dedicated to the art and history of the craft cocktail. This unique establishment offers a one-of-a-kind experience, blending a deep appreciation for cocktail culture with the rich, lush history of the Bahamas, as well as the intriguing life and works of Ernest Hemingway. The concept and ambiance of Bon Vivants are inspired by both the beauty of Bahamaland and the spirit of Hemingway’s adventurous lifestyle, which emphasizes living life to the fullest. The name “Bon Vivant” comes from French, referring to a person who indulges in the pleasures of life—someone who embraces a luxurious lifestyle and enjoys it to the fullest. With this philosophy in mind, Bon Vivants aims to take guests on a sensory journey through time and across different lands, all through the art of expertly crafted cocktails. The goal is not just to serve drinks, but to provide an immersive experience, one that transports patrons to new places and eras with every sip. Every cocktail is meticulously crafted with the utmost attention to detail. Bon Vivants prides itself on sourcing the highest quality ingredients, from selecting the freshest citrus to squeezing by hand, to using locally grown produce from Bahamian farms. The bar's commitment to excellence extends beyond just the ingredients; every element, from the glassware to the presentation, is carefully considered to enhance the experience. Whether it’s choosing the perfect vessel to serve your drink or ensuring the finest spirits are used, no detail is overlooked. At Bon Vivants, it’s all about celebrating the craft of cocktail-making, and their dedication to quality and artistry ensures every guest enjoys a drink that’s not just a cocktail, but a piece of art. Santeka's Taste Test | Did it Pass? I absolutely loved my experience at Bon Vivants! This place is such a gem, offering a versatile atmosphere that caters to both daytime productivity and evening relaxation. During the day, it’s a fantastic spot for working remotely, with both indoor and outdoor seating options that create a comfortable and welcoming environment. Whether you're looking for a quiet corner or a sunny spot outside, you can settle in and get some work done while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the bar. Their cafe menu is a delightful mix of coffee, teas, cocktails, and freshly baked pastries. The pastry selection is diverse and absolutely delicious, offering tempting choices like banana bread, buttery croissants, rich coffee cake, and savory quiche. If you're craving something more substantial for breakfast or lunch, there are several restaurants within walking distance that offer heartier options, so you’re never far from a satisfying meal. When night falls, Bon Vivants transforms into an entirely different experience. The atmosphere is full of life and energy—it's got a distinct "Blackity, Black, Black" vibe that is both warm and vibrant. The space comes alive with live music, fashion-forward guests, and great conversation. The artist performing that night was phenomenal, creating an unforgettable soundtrack for the evening. I’m not sure if they have live music every night, but I visited on a Thursday and it was absolutely worth it. To get the full experience, be sure to check their social media channels ahead of your visit to see what’s happening that night. The space itself isn’t very large, so if you’re planning to visit with a group and want to sit together, I highly recommend arriving early to secure a spot. It fills up quickly, and it’s a popular destination for both locals and visitors. One thing I noticed is that bars in the Bahamas tend to close earlier than I’m used to in the U.S., but Bon Vivants stood out as one of the few places that stayed open until midnight and beyond—well past the usual closing time for resort bars and lounges. This made it a perfect place to continue the night after other spots had closed. Overall, Bon Vivants is an incredible place, whether you're working during the day or looking for a lively spot to enjoy great music and cocktails at night. It’s a must-visit destination in Nassau! The Vibe: Relaxed Cozy Intimate Great for remote work Menu Favorites: Cocktails Important Tip(s) : If you're visiting with a group, it's best to arrive early to guarantee you can all sit together.
