NYC Staycation Ideas

Oh, yes she LOVES a staycation! Don't get me wrong, I don't need a reason to hop on a flight to "insert destination," but it's not all rainbows and butterflies when it comes to taking a vacation. Preparing an itinerary, booking travel, standing in glorious airport security/custom lines, and constantly wondering if the person behind you covered their mouth when they sneezed and/or coughed. And these are just a handful of the "stressors" that come with vacationing. Did I mention $$$? Now don't get me wrong, I know these are first world problems, but are all the more reason why I value a staycation.
I don't mean time-off work where you stay home. Can we say, activate the "cation" in stay? I'm kidding...well kind of. If anyone can share with me how one "cations" at home, I'm all ears! I have to leave my home. Otherwise, I'll end up using my time-off to fulfill my life duties as Cinderella, my own personal assistant, etc., etc.
So I'm sharing two (2) of my NYC staycations, which simply required me throwing some clothes in a duffel bag, hopping on a train, and compiling a fun list of things to do. Yes, I made a very ambitious list and I knew I wouldn't get to everything, but I didn't care. I live minutes away from NYC, so I can go back anytime. This is yet another bonus of opting for a #staycation. I didn't feel pressured to comb through a list, visit countless attractions, and run myself ragged to take advantage of every second. Why? I wasn't or borrowed time and I hadn't spent tons of money. I know I'm not the only person that feels this way on vacation!!
Any who...Even though both of my staycations called me to NYC, they served two (2) completely different purposes. My first staycation was with the girls!! We stayed at SIXTY SoHo, a chic and modern luxurious hotel in the heart of Lower Manhattan.

Outfit: shirt / pants / handbag / shoes
We had a lovely dinner at Beauty & Essex, a pawn shop that opens up to a restaurant and lounge. The whole experience was immaculate! Be sure to make a reservation and save your coins accordingly.

Outfit: jumpsuit 1 / jumpsuit 2 / shoes
We visited hidden bars and rooftop bars. Bar Hugo offered lovely views and the artwork was popping!

We explored Little Italy and made a pit stop in China Town.

My second staycation was with my Honey Bunches. We stayed at The Watson Hotel located in Midtown Manhattan. The hotel met all of our requirements: great location, affordable, and it's one of the few hotels in NYC that has a rooftop pool.

We checked out Brazilian Day, a celebration of Brazilian culture and I FINALLY got my obligatory photo in front of Radio City Music Hall. This photo is super special because I forgot to take one when I graduated from NYU in 2016.

We ate great food! You have to check out Tonchin. Their ramen and wings were incredible

Also, check out BapSang. It is truly a hidden gem with great happy hour specials. I didn't try the food, but the drinks were on point.

Did I mention how much we bummed around? One of my favorite things in the world is laying in a hotel bed flipping through television channels in a robe while eating room service. I. Love. It!
